FORT WAYNE, Ind. (June 26, 2016) –  The Royal Purple King of the Wing National Sprintcar Series Mid-West finally had to be cancelled due to a heavy thunderstorm. Most of the afternoon was cloudy but dry.

Fifteen cars were on hand and practiced. Sierra Jackson fired the car only to find out her over heating problem in Winchester was a water pump issue which could not be fixed. As the 14 cars were qualifying the clouds grew darker and the winds picked up. Shortly after the heat race line ups were posted a torrential down pour accompanied by thunder and lightning forced the track promoter to cancel the event.  Full Story

 

WINCHESTER, Ind. (June 25, 2016) — The Royal Purple King of the Wing National Sprintcar Series took to the fast ½ mile oval Saturday night. Only 10 drivers dared to take on the 37 degree turns at the 102-year-old track located in Central Indiana.

Brian Gerster was quick qualifier with a 13.308 second lap running 135 mph. The invert for the main event was 6th placing the rookie driver Jason Conn on the pole. Aaron Pierce, who started inside 3rd row, quickly moved to the outside on the green flag and passed for the lead in turn 1 just after completing the first lap. Pierce was lapping cars by lap 10. Meanwhile Gerster stayed calm and steadily

Bobby Santos Wins Royal Purple® King of the Wing National Sprintcar Mid-West Opener   Gillenwater Wins Fastest Short Track Show

TOLEDO, Ohio (June 24, 2016) –  The Royal Purple King of the Wing National Sprintcar Series kicked off its mid-west tour Friday night at Toledo Ohio’s ½ mile track in spectacular fashion.

Derek Synder, starting 3rd was in a quick battle with pole sitter, David Baumgartner, as the field rounded turn 1 on the first lap. He completed the pass on the back stretch and held the lead trough lap 28. Bobby Santos, starting 3rd row outside, moved into the 3rd spot on lap 9. He kept pace with Synder as the 2 separated themselves from the rest of the
field.
