Staff Changes Announced for Upcoming Season

The Auto Value Bumper to Bumper Super Sprints (AVBBSS) announced staff changes for the upcoming season. Mark Tarlton will serve as Competition Director and Flagman while Tony Postma has been appointed to the RACEceiver Communication Director and will be assisting on the series Twitter account (@Super_Sprints).

Tarlton has been involved in racing for nearly 30 years and most recently served as Competition Director with the Hoosier Outlaw Sprint Series for the previous five years. His motorsports career began as a driver and he earned the Street Stock Championship at Avilla (IN) Speedway in the early 1980s. Tarlton also spent time behind the wheel of a winged sprint car.   Full Story

 
John Turnbull Jr. Set to Begin Second Season in Sprint Cars

John Turnbull Jr. is set to begin his second season in pavement sprint cars. He has a busy season planned with 20 events comprised of a mix of wing and non wing races. A majority of Turnbull's events will be in Michigan with a few shows in Indiana and Ohio.

The first race of the year will be a double header weekend on May 2-3. On Friday night, he will race at Spartan (MI) Speedway and on Saturday night at Angola Motor (IN) Speedway in the Top Speed Fabrication Non-Wing Sprint Car Tour. These are both non-wing sprint car events.

Turnbull, of Howell, Mich., has nine non-wing sprint car races scheduled with the LaFontaine Ford Spartan Sprint Series and the Top Speed Fabrication Non-Wing Sprint Car Tour. A majority of the non-wing races this year will take place at Spartan (MI) Speedway with additional races at Angola and Galesburg (MI) Speedway.  Full Story

 
Angola to Host Open Practice Sessions

Angola Motor Speedway, the site of the opening round of the 2014 Auto Value Bumper to Bumper Sprint Car Series will host an open practice session on Saturday, April 19 with practice scheduled from noon to 6 p.m.

Open practice is also on the Angola schedule for Thursday, April 24.

2014 Tire Rule

Auto Value Bumper to Bumper Super Sprints have announced they have implemented a change to the Hoosier Racing Tire policy in 2014.

At all events with the exception of Toledo and Winchester, teams will be allowed to utilize just one Right Rear Tire. Full Story

 
Auto Value Bumper to Bumper Super Sprint Series and Hoosier Outlaw Sprint Series Join Forces

Auto Value Bumper to Bumper Super Sprints (AVBBSS) and Hoosier Outlaw Sprint Series (HOSS) officials announced the two Winged Sprint Car Tours have merged for the upcoming 2014 season.

"Merging HOSS and AVBBSS only strengthens sprint car racing in the Midwest,” said Tom Hartsell, Auto Value Bumper to Bumper Super Sprints Series President. “HOSS and AVSS have enjoyed a successful partnership for the past few years and moving forward as one series was the logical choice. Swanson to Compete for Florida State Championship

 Warsaw, Ind. driver and two-time defending Hoosier Outlaw Sprint Series (HOSS) champion Joe Swanson confirmed today that he will compete in the March 1 "Florida State Championship" Winged Sprint Car event. The two-day 75-lap event will be contested at Showtime Speedway in Pinellas Park, Fla.

Swanson is no stranger to winged sprint car competition. He has been on a tear of sorts the past two seasons. Swanson has won the HOSS championship the last two seasons as well as finishing second in the 2013 Auto Value Super Sprints championship.

 Swanson will be one of a handful of northern drivers who will be battling the southern drivers during this historic first annual event. Northern drivers: Davey Hamilton, Todd Fayard, and Aaron Pierce are also expected to participate.  Full Story
