Helberg Wraps Up King of the Wing Title with Kern County Victory
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (November 23, 2014) – Jo Jo Helberg won his second consecutive main event and fourth of the series to cap off the King of the Wing Sprint Car Shootout Championship at Kern County (CA) Raceway Park on Sunday, November 23.
Helberg grabbed the lead at the drop of the green flag in the 40-lap feature. He led the entire distance with Aaron Pierce crossing the finish line in second spot. Bobby Santos finished in third spot with David Byrne and Sierra Jackson rounding out the top five.
In preliminary action, heat race victories were earned by Helberg, Pierce and Jackson. In qualifying, Helberg turned the fastest lap at 14.296 seconds.
