Hometown Victory for Jimmy McCune at Toledo
TOLEDO, Ohio (June 16, 2017) – Jimmy McCune won at his home track of Toledo Speedway in the fourth event the Auto Value Bumper to Bumper Super Sprints presented by Royal Purple Synthetic Oil on Friday, June 16.
McCune’s victory in the 17th Annual All American Coach/Hemelgarn Racing and Super Fitness Fastest Short Track Show marks his third win at Toledo and his 12th series victory.
Ryan Litt, who has collected two wins in the early portion of the season chased McCune across the finish line with defending race winner Ryan Gillenwater placing third. Bobby Santos finished in fourth position with Brian Gerster in fifth spot.
In preliminary action, Gerster won Dowker Engines Heat #1 while Santos earned victory in the Royal Purple Synthetic Oil Heat #2. Kyle Edwards was the top qualifier around the half-mile oval of the 15 cars on hand. The quick lap for Edwards was 12.275 seconds at 146.640 mph.
The Auto Value Bumper to Bumper Super Sprints presented by Royal Purple Synthetic Oil is back in action on Saturday, June 17 at Berlin (Mich.) Raceway.
