Impressive Drive Leads to Anderson Win for Aaron Pierce
ANDERSON, Ind. (June 28, 2015) – Indiana’s Aaron Pierce earned an impressive victory in the inaugural King of the Wing Sprint Car Shoot Out event at Anderson (Ind.) Speedway on Sunday, June 28. The Royal Purple 50 was the conclusion of the Midwest Series for the National Sprint Car Series.
Defending Auto Value Bumper to Bumper Super Sprints Champion Jason Blonde led the opening 24 circuits then Pierce made a three-wide move to take the point at the halfway mark. Pierce was able to construct a sizeable lead over Blonde and Gerster. With three laps remaining, Jackson spun bringing out the yellow.
After a three lap sprint to victory, Pierce finished 1.655 seconds ahead of Blonde. Third place went to Gerster with Tyler Roahrig and Davey Hamilton Jr. rounding out the top five. Sixth went to Kevin Feeney with Sierra Jackson, Kevin Blue, John Turnbull Jr. and Brian Vaughn rounding out the top 10.
In qualifications, making her first ever appearance at Anderson, Idaho’s Sierra Jackson posted the best time with a lap of 10.221 seconds, just .004 seconds quicker than Gerster.
