Kody Swanson Wins Event at M-40
JONES, Mich. (August 22, 2013) – Fast qualifier Kody Swanson, behind the wheel of the Speed Chasers No. 64, earned the victory in the Hoosier Outlaw Sprint Series at M-40 (MI) Speedway on Wednesday, August 21.
Former series champion and 2013 race winner Tim Cox led the opening portion of the event before Kody Swanson sailed into first spot on the fifth circuit. On lap later the only caution waved when Cox experienced some mechanical problems.
Once out front, Kody Swanson led the remainder of the event. At the finish, Dave Baumgartner finished in the runner-up position in his debut with the re-organized BioBased.US racing team. The top five was filled out by Aaron Pierce, Joe Swanson and Jo Jo Helberg.
Heat race victories went to Pierce and Joe Swanson.
