Kyle Edwards Earns Kalamazoo Victory
KALAMAZOO, Mich. (June 6, 2015) – Kyle Edwards earned the victory in the USAC Auto Value Bumper to Bumper Super Sprints return to Kalamazoo Speedway on Saturday, June 6. Edwards became the second different winner in the young season with Bobby Santos Jr. capturing the opener at Five Flags (Fla.) Speedway in April.
Former series champion Kevin Feeney led the field to the green flag in the 50-lap feature event. He paced the opening 14 circuits with Edwards completing the race-winning pass on the 15th lap. Fast qualifier Aaron Pierce advanced from eighth starting spot to second, but was unable to catch Edwards at the conclusion of the initial Midwest race for the Michigan-based series.
Edwards finished 3.221 seconds ahead of Pierce with defending series champion Jason Blonde placing third. Santos placed fourth with Ryan Gillenwater in the fifth spot.
Pierce posted the fastest lap in Hamilton Trucking Qualifications at 10.014 seconds at 134.811 mph. Heat race victories went to Kyle Edwards and John Turnbull.
The USAC Auto Value Bumper to Bumper Super Sprints returns to action on Friday, June 12 at Toledo (Ohio) Speedway and Saturday, June 13 at Auto City (Mich.) Speedway.
