The weather and poor economic shortened 2008 season was celebrated at the AVBBSS banquet held at the American Legion Post in Jackson on Saturday the 22nd. One hundred and fifteen people attended the affair.
Jason Blonde, the talented driver out of Litchfield Michigan was crowned the champion for the second year in a row. Jason piloted the T&T Promotions owned machine to his third Auto Value championship in five years. Second to Jason this season was the young Canadian driver, Ryan Litt, and third went to the veteran driver,Jeff Bloom. In the owners side of the points race, T&T Promotions was first with Ryan Litt Racing second, and Wayne Stickney in the third position.
The Owens Petroleum Rookie of the Year went to the high school student from Litchfield, Kyle Flint, congratulation to Kyle, Ken, and Brenda on a fine team effort. The Owner of the Year for 2008 was awarded to Tracy Rice who fields two sprinters in the series piloted by Davey Brown and Ryan Davis. The last award of the night went to Butch Dowker as he was named Crew Chief of the Year, Butch built the chassis and puts the power to the track on not only the championship car but numerous others in the series. |
