Second Career Victory for Roahrig at Baer Field
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (July 16, 2016) – The Auto Value Bumper to Bumper Super Sprints presented by Royal Purple Synthetic Oil returned to action on Saturday, July 16 at Baer Field (Ind.) Motorsports Park with Tyler Roahrig earning his second career victory after prevailing in a thrilling battle with Aaron Pierce.
Jason Blonde and Kyle Edwards led the 16-car starting field to the green flag and the caution flag was displayed after Tom Paterson experienced a mechanical problem. When the green flag returned, Edwards grabbed the lead . Tyler Roahrig and Aaron Pierce were advancing from the third row with Pierce leading the way to the front.
Edwards then dropped back as Pierce, Roahrig and McCune battled for the victory. Pierce led the way with Roahrig keeping up the pressure until he used traffic to take the lead. Pierce returned the favor and got under Roahrig for a brief few moments with Roahrig completing the race-winning pass. At the finish, Roahrig finished ahead of Pierce with McCune, Blonde and Chris Neuenschwander filling out the top five. Litt placed sixth with Galloway, Caryer, Jackson, and Kevin Kevin Feeney rounding out the top 10.
Sierra Jackson and Grant Galloway earned victories in the Royal Purple Synthetic Oil and Auto Value Parts heat races. Aaron Pierce set fast time with a lap of 14.791 seconds at 121.696 mph.
