Tom Hartsell, Owner and Announcer

Tom has owned the AVBBSS since and is also the voice to the fans during the race and our live broadcasts on Facebook.  

Tom also owns Cass Auto Supply which is an Auto Value parts store, in Cassopolis, MI.  Besides announcing for the AVBBSS series, he also does some Tractor Pulls, and Detroit Lions Charity Basketball events.

Tom has been to South Africa Several times with some of the Drivers of the AVBBSS series in the SA vs USA competitions.  

Tom works hard to bring the drivers and fans the best possible race locations and action for the “Worlds Fastest Short Track Cars.”

Larry Heuer – Race Director and Website/Social Media

Larry was born and raised in Lansing, Michigan, open graduation he went in the Army for the start of a 20 year career.  He currently lives in Dansville, Michigan with his wife.  Larry has 2 daughters, Jacquelyn, who is a doctoral student at the University of South Florida, and Kendra, who resides in Ohio with her husband Mike, and three children, all boys.

Larry has been a lifelong fan of NASCAR and stock car racing. He has been a part of safety crews, pit crews, and he has always been deeply interested in the races over the years. Larry also enjoys push starting the sprints on the pavement, someday he hopes to try it on dirt as well.

Larry looks forward to helping the drivers, owners, and staff to build up AVBBSS. It is important that the Sprint Car series have more drivers and fans to continue to get shows in the Midwest and across the country.  He believes in teamwork for the betterment of the series and our drivers.

Larry has a love of Jesus Christ, his wife and family, and his joy of helping others, especially those in need.

Bruce Harper – Flagman and Official

Bruce of Delphi Indiana has joined the officials of the Auto Value Bumper to Bumper Super Sprints Series.  Bruce will be throwing the Green Flag at all of our racing events in Michigan and Indiana as our new Flagman.   He will also be helping with the pre and post inspections of the cars.

Bruce was born in 1976, and has been involved with racing his entire life.  He loves all kinds of racing, especially sprint cars, and has also raced karts in Indiana previously.  He also races R/C cars when he has time, which lately has not been that much.

Bruce is employed at Guaranteed Service and Transmission in Lafayette Indiana as an Automotive Technician for 25 years.

John Fester – Official

John was born and raised in Dowagiac Michigan and currently lives in Sodus Michigan.  John has worked 25 years as a mechanic 15 years in construction and now he does lawn care and snow plowing.   John has 2 kids and 5 grandkids.

John enjoys the races and all people involved and looks forward to the 2019 season.

Jerry Winstone – Official

Penny Libertowski – Official

Penny was born in South Bend Indiana, her childhood was spent Niles Michigan where she graduated from Brandywine H. S. She currently lives in Sodus, Michigan in her first house purchase on her own.  She has been  an EMT, fire fighter & Phlebotomists, she currently works for Lakeland Hospital for 24 years, the last 21 in the mail and transportation department.

Penny has 2 kids , a son, 25. who is an R. N in the Emergency Room & her daughter, 22, who owns a Vape store and has 2 beautiful kids. She raised 5 kids, and  has 12 grandkids. 

Penny enjoys working side by side with my boyfriend of 5 years at the races.

Carrie Metzger – Video and Photogragher
 
The auto Value Super Sprints welcomes Carrie Metzger to our staff.  Carrie will be doing the invoices for the drivers and she will also have the task of filming for our live events during the race days on Facebook Live. 
 
Carrie was born in 1983 and is step-mom to Michael Harper (9) and Rebecca Harper (10).  She coaches Rebecca’s softball team, loves to travel, and go to races, which she will do plenty of in our 2019 season.
 
Carrie is employed with Payless supermarkets in Lafayette Indiana as a scan coordinator for 20 years.
 
AVBBSS welcomes Carrie to our crew, and looks forward to meeting everyone at the races in the 2019 season.

Laura Heuer – Chaplin

Laura, or Laurie as a lot of people know her, has been around racing most of life, as many family and friends have been drivers of open wheel cars since her childhood.  Including her son Derek Snyder.  

She resides with her husband Larry, and their many horses, dogs, cats, and parrots in Dansville Michigan.  She is a huge animal lover as you can see by the picture and many animals at her house.

Laura has a deep love for Christ and has been a youth group leader and held other positions in the church.  She is happy to be there for the drivers meetings to offer prayer and encouragement to the drivers of the AVBBSS.
